About Paul Skiffington

Paul Skiffington earned his Master's Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Massachusetts in 2004. He also holds a graduate certificate in Domestic Violence Prevention and he has completed graduate level research in Women's Resistance to Sexual Assault.
A retired police officer with over 28 years of experience, Paul attained the rank of Sergeant, working in patrol, undercover narcotics, and criminal investigations.
Paul studied Small Circle Jujitsu since 1996 under Sensei Ed Melaugh, a first generation Sokedai (Inheritor), who was handpicked by the founder of Small Circle Jujitsu, Professor Wally Jay. Paul currently holds the rank of 4th Degree Black Belt, has been instructing for over fifteen years, and has participated in teaching seminars with Sensei Melaugh across the U.S. and abroad.
In 2008, Paul began his study of Krav Maga. Paul achieved his instructor status from Master James Kenney and has been teaching since 2010.
Paul also taught private lesson classes for individuals and small groups. Specializing in custom self protection work centered on individual needs and abilities, Paul has been able to work with people from diverse backgrounds and representing various levels of experience.
Paul is a certified instructor in various police defense tactics systems, including the Massachusetts Criminal Justice Training Committee, and teaches police defensive tactics at police academies across the state. He is also a certified instructor and simulator in RAD (Rape Aggression Defense) for women and RAD for Seniors.
In 2017, Paul became certified in Warrior Krav Maga. Recently, he also has been studying Brazilian Jujitsu through training in Tewksbury, Mass.
